SUBMISSIONS TO NATURE NORTH
Anyone and everyone is welcome to submit their work to Nature North for publication. We want to be a forum for all Manitobans to tell each other about our wonderful wildlife, fascinating plants and experiences with nature. If we like your work, we'll try to fit it in.
Do we pay for submissions? Sorry, but not yet. First we have to start making money. Down the line, we'd love to be able to buy stuff, but for now, we're relying on voluntary submissions. Do we charge for publication? No. So, if you've got good stuff that you'd like to share, and it meets our approval, we'll be happy to publish it at no cost to you, for all the world to see on the Web.
WHAT TO SUBMIT
We're looking for good stuff about nature in Manitoba. And we intend to stick to information about plant and animal species and ecosystems that occur in Manitoba. But other than that, we are open to any kind of submission: magazine-style articles (life histories, basic biology, strange abilities), technical information (research findings, government data), stories, anecdotes, lists (species lists from wildlife inventories or projects), poems, images (photo's, drawings, artwork), games, activities, projects, whatever! Anything that can be published on the web is of interest to us. Just keep it about Manitoba and bear in mind that we want to keep things seasonally based.
Journalistically, we intend to remain neutral and will not publish one-sided accounts of events or issues. We'd prefer not to deal with "issues and opinions" and stick to information. Perhaps we may develop some "reader's forums" for exchanges of opinions on subjects and issues, but for now we want basic information on nature. Think: "celebration of nature"!
We're particularly interested in information on Manitoba's more obscure fauna and flora. The big furry and feathered stuff gets too much attention as it is. There is a lot more to biodiversity than just mammals and birds.
If you wish to submit.
