Canada Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis)
This plant and its close relatives have
been much maligned as the source of pollen which affects allergy sufferers.
The real blame lies with other plants such as ragweeds that have inconspicuous
flowers that open at the same time as the goldenrods, in August and
early September. Canada golden rod produces large panicles of tiny flowers
reaching as high as 60 cm.
