Prairie Lily (Lilium philadelphicum) The prairie lily is the star of the tall-grass prairie's show in late June and into July. Leafy stalks, up to 60 cm high, hold up to 5 or 6 large orange blossoms. The plants and the green seed pods vanish into the prairie back-drop once the sepals fall.
